What we do

The Bury Integrated Care Partnership is an alliance which unites all the health and social care organisations in the borough.

We work closely together as one group, to make sure people get the best treatment and care possible, with everything being better-coordinated.

healthcare and wellness news

Directors from the various organisations meet regularly to make decisions together on how to care and treat the population.

Nurses, GPs, social workers, therapists, hospital staff and the voluntary sector work closely together on delivering these services in our communities. Our commissioners – the teams which buy the services – are also now part of this joined-up approach.

The Bury Integrated Care Partnership teams will work in five neighbourhood areas in the borough; Bury, Ramsbottom and Tottington, Prestwich, Radcliffe and Whitefield.

Bringing these experts together to make decisions in the communities where they work will bring care closer and faster to people.

Bury also has four primary care networks, led by GP practices, which work closely with the five neighbourhood teams to improve care for people.

Our aim

The Bury Integrated Care Partnership aims “to make Bury one of the best places to live, work and study” – reflecting the vision of the borough’s 10-year Let’s Do It ambition and delivery plan, which contains a health and social care strategy, called the Locality Plan (read more about this below).

It will do this by putting residents in control of their health and wellbeing, delivering services closer to home, focusing on services that are planned and preventative, having front line staff working together in five neighbourhood teams in health & care and controlling costs with earlier intervention and prevention.

It will achieve these aims by better-coordinated and integrated services, supporting people to stay healthy and well at home, improving access to emergency and urgent care for people who need it, organising teams in Bury’s five neighbourhoods and promoting cross-organisational working and encouraging innovation.

The borough’s locality plan

The Bury Integrated Care Partnership will help deliver the borough’s Locality Plan.

The Locality Plan’s vision is to “improve health and well-being through working with communities and residents to ensure that all people have a good start and enjoy a healthy, safe and fulfilling life”.

integrated care partnership

We will work together

Integrated care partnerships have been launched in all 10 boroughs in Greater Manchester.

Bury will work with its neighbouring boroughs and the wider Greater Manchester Integrated Care System to both contribute to and benefit from bringing this expertise and joint-working together.

We will work together to:

  • Help the NHS to support broader social and economic development
  • Improve population health and healthcare
  • Tackle unequal outcomes and access
  • Enhance productivity and value for money
